note to self: must proof read

Sorry about the missing letters! And me being a teacher and everything!!
I am so glad to be living in Adelaide as it has allowed me to discover and grow succulents and bearded iris. I previously lived in Brissie and Darwin and as anyone of you from those lovely places knows, you cannot grow anything that keels over at a whisper of humidity. Lucky Adelaide! to be able to grow all plants starting from palms to succulents. Especially succulents which are almost mathematical in their symmetry and beauty.
I am growing Haworthia, Gasteria, Aeonium, sedums, jovibarba etc
and i love the little perfectly formed little pups that you can split off and get new plants from.

Welcoming the rain

It is so nice to wake up and see the dark clouds roll in from the sea. There is always a light rim to the dark blue water just about where it meets the sky but then every thing fuzzies over and you know it is raining out there. In ten minute it is raining in my front garden as well. The bulbs and the seedlings must be singing their hearts out in this weather, so much better than constant winds and drying sun!
all the wind overnight has split the Dahlia bush in two as happened last year as well. And just it finally got over the heat and finally started flowering. I do not remember what variety it was but it came from Big W and has paid for itself many times over. I must learn how to add pictures to my posts.

Hey I just started my first blog! I am in Adelaide, South Australia in a house which is about 300 feet from the sea. I love my plants and I could not imagine what I might spend my money on if i did not have a garden. At the moment though it is all confined to the front and in pots, as we are renting this place as we wait for our own house to be built. I am in the process of putting bulbs in as we speak and yes I know, I should have not ordered any this year!! any how I hope to do this each day from now on.
Oh, and I have three lovely children and one very understanding husband. Ta!
